Coldplay Getting $2 Million for First Middle Eastern Gig

For the first time in their career, Coldplay has been booked for a show in the Middle East, but their price isn’t cheap. Gigwise reports that the band will earn $2 million for a concert performed at the Emirates Palace in the United Arab Emirates.

The Emirates Palace will likely sell out of the 15,000 available tickets, as Elissa Murtaza, the concert’s promoter, told Gigwise, “Regional fans of the band have waited a long time for this show and they won’t be disappointed.”

Coldplay’s price tag of $2 million dollars for the one-off concert is remarkably similar to when Coldplay reportedly raked in almost the same amount to headline Japan’s Summer Sonic music festival in August 2008.

It sure pays to be in Coldplay.
